Visit to Maison&Objet 2025 in Paris: 10 Trends to Watch for 2025/26
As every January, we travelled to Paris for Maison&Objet, a must-attend event for creators and designers from around the world. The event was an opportunity to discover inspiring innovations and immerse ourselves in the trends shaping 2025. Here is a selection of the trends that will define the year ahead:
- Return to natural materials
Raw and organic materials, such as recycled wood, linen, stone, cotton, and leather, have taken centre stage. Consumers are looking for sustainable and authentic products that tell a story.
- Maximal minimalism
Minimalism is being reinvented in 2025 with a more sophisticated approach. Clean lines and simple objects are enhanced with subtle details and luxurious textures, creating calming experiences full of character.
- Discreet technology
Technology continues to blend seamlessly into our environments without being intrusive. Connected objects, such as smart lamps or furniture with integrated features, are becoming more elegant and design-focused.
- Earthy colours and deep shades
Natural colours dominate the palettes of 2025: terracotta tones, browns, and deep greens bring warmth and serenity to home interiors and everyday objects. This trend celebrates nature and simplicity.
- Artisanal craftsmanship
Craftsmanship and local production are experiencing a real resurgence. Unique, handmade pieces created with particular attention to detail are gaining popularity, offering alternatives to mass-produced products.
- #Cozycore 2.0
Quilting is one of this year’s key trends, bringing volume and structure to silhouettes. Featured on coats, jackets, scarves, bags, and pouches, it combines comfort and elegance while evoking a sophisticated, cosy aesthetic. This interplay of textures, often paired with neutral tones or oversized cuts, gives everyday pieces a contemporary feel. This season, it’s embracing bold, vibrant colours! We love it!
- Accessible luxury
Consumers are looking for products that combine high-end design with affordable prices. This year, the focus is on making luxury more accessible, with elegant pieces at more attainable prices thanks to ethical and sustainable production.
- Eco-design and the circular economy
Environmental commitment is growing stronger, with increasing attention paid to upcycling and the circular economy. Furniture made from recycled materials, eco-designed products, and responsible manufacturing processes are at the heart of these developments.
- Adaptable objects
In a world where flexibility is essential, modular and multifunctional objects are gaining ground. They allow spaces or uses to be transformed according to different needs, creating more adaptable and practical environments.
- Fusion of styles
Finally, the blending of cultural, geographical, and historical influences is becoming a defining feature. Mixing styles, from vintage to contemporary, with ethnic and industrial touches, creates unique and personal experiences.
Maison&Objet 2025 offered us a fascinating glimpse into the direction the design industry is taking. More than ever, trends are focused on sustainability, innovation, and personalisation. A future rich in creativity and environmental awareness awaits us!
