CE

The CE (European Compliance) marking was created within the framework of European technical harmonisation legislation. A CE marking is neither a certification nor an indication of the geographical origin of the product – rather, it is a regulatory marking which does not imply that the product has been manufactured in the European Union. A product marked “CE” meets all the essential requirements of each of the directives that are applicable to it.

The CE marking does not indicate a geographical origin, but does specify that the manufacturer or importer is committed to the compliance of its product with European legislation, particularly with regard to safety, hygiene and environmental protection. In some cases, compliance may be certified by a third-party inspection body.
