Recycled cashmere

Recycled cashmere

Cashmere is a natural animal fibre sourced from cashmere goats. Its recycled version mostly comes from old cashmere garments that are reprocessed into fabric for reuse, while retaining the qualities of virgin cashmere.

This new material is made from pre- and post-consumer waste collected in factories or from old garments that are recycled into new fibres. The fabrics are sorted and carefully classified by colour, then shredded into small pieces. These are then mixed with recycled wool (5-10%) before being spun to create a strong, undyed yarn that will be used to make all types of clothing and accessories.

Through a process of upcycling and recycling, we retain all the wonderful properties of cashmere while avoiding overproduction and drastically reducing its environmental impact. According to a recent LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) by our supplier, this revalued fibre saves 76% energy, 89% water and 96% CO2 compared to production with standard materials.
