LWG

The Leather Working Group was established in 2005 with the aim of developing and maintaining an assessment protocol for the leather industry that ensures environmentally and socially responsible production, including all players in the supply chain, from raw leather to finished leather.

The LWG leather certification process is based on the assessment of several criteria, such as water management, waste management, energy consumption, air quality and the company’s social commitment. LWG-certified leather is classified according to its level of compliance with the certification standard, with Gold, Silver and Bronze levels. Companies that obtain certification can use the LWG logo to highlight their commitment to sustainable and responsible leather production.
