Regenerated leather

Regenerated leather

Regenerated or recycled leather is made from leather scraps and hides sourced directly from factories. These scraps are ground up and then mixed with latex (natural vegetable rubber, approximately 10 to 20%) and binders (3 to 10%, glues, resins and pigments). The resulting product is durable and offers a similar appearance while reducing waste.

We call regenerated or recycled leather a material made from the recovery of hides and leather scraps sourced directly from factories, which are then ground and mixed with natural rubber to create a paste. This paste is then dried and rolled out into a thin layer to recreate the material; it is then dyed using colour pigments.

The resulting material is durable and looks similar to genuine leather, while reducing waste. Regenerated leather lends itself to multiple applications such as small leather goods (wallets, card holders, pencil cases/cases, etc.) or notebooks/diaries and other office classics.

A product of animal husbandry, genuine leather is the result of one of the most polluting industries on the planet. Leather processing can also have a significant impact on the environment and human health. Recycled leather is therefore a good alternative for reducing this impact and using what we already have.
