Organic Cotton

Organic cotton respects the environment. It is grown using organic techniques set out in charters and is GMO-free. No chemical pesticides or dyes are used, giving this completely allergen-free cotton a pleasant feel. Choosing organic cotton means playing a part in its development and therefore reducing the considerable impact of traditional cotton production on the environment. Traditional cotton is one of the crops that uses the most pesticides: it uses more than 20% of agricultural insecticides despite representing only 2.5% of farmed land! Producing one kilo of cotton requires between 7,000 and 29,000 litres of water and up to 30 treatments per year. Organic cotton is generally certified by Control Union with the GOTS label.
