GRS

The global recycling standard is a global certification for products with recycled content. The goal of GRS is to provide brands with a tool for more accurate labelling, encourage innovation in the use of recovered materials, establish greater transparency in the supply chain and provide better information to consumers.

Environmental criteria guarantee

·         Compliance with legal requirements on water consumption, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions

·         Wastewater control and compliance with related legal requirements

·         Implementation of a waste management system

·         Implementation of various requirements to manage environmental issues

·         Limiting the use of chemicals

Social criteria include

·         Implementation of a policy of social responsibility

·         Prohibition of forced labor and child labor

·         Prohibition of discrimination, harassment and abuse

·         Freedom of association

·         Health and safety of workers

·         Employment contracts and defined wages

·         Working hours

GRS certification differs from RCS standards in that it :

·     Imposes a higher minimum percentage of content (50%)

·      Provides assurance that the materials used in the final product are indeed recycled and processed in a more sustainable way.

·      Encourages innovation to solve quality problems linked to the use of recycled materials.

·      Imposes additional processing requirements (social, environmental and chemical).
