Inovacomm is pleased to introduce the two organisations it has decided to support this year as part of its offsetting initiative, in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10, “Reduced Inequalities”, defined by Swiss Triple Impact. These organisations are Aalma and Table Suisse.
The Aalma association, based in Lausanne, works to support the integration and personal development of young migrants, particularly unaccompanied minors (UAMs). Founded in 2017, it offers a variety of activities, including artistic workshops, sports classes (such as kickboxing and swimming), and educational camps. These initiatives aim to strengthen self-confidence, build intercultural connections, and provide a space for expression and support for young people who often face complex and difficult life circumstances.
Aalma also places particular emphasis on raising public awareness of the cultural richness and resilience of these young people, notably through events such as exhibitions and audiovisual storytelling. The association relies on a team of volunteers and local partnerships to sustain its activities, actively contributing to a more inclusive and supportive society.
The Table Suisse Foundation is a Swiss charitable organisation founded in 2001. Every day, it collects more than 25 tonnes of surplus food from retailers, major distributors, and the food industry.
These unsold food products, which are still perfectly suitable for consumption, are then redistributed free of charge to nearly 500 social institutions, such as shelters, homeless centres, and food aid organisations throughout Switzerland.
We believe that tackling food waste is essential, considering that 2.8 million tonnes of food are wasted every year in Switzerland. This represents 330 kilograms per person per year, with food waste accounting for approximately a quarter of the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our food consumption (source).
At the same time, the organisation actively contributes to climate protection: by preventing this food from going to waste, its team helps avoid the emission of more than 10,600 tonnes of CO₂ every year.
The missions of these two organisations have deeply moved us. Through this initiative, we hope to contribute, in our own way, to creating a positive impact within our community and to offset impacts in areas where our ability to take direct action is more limited.
If you would also like to support these organisations, please feel free to get in touch through their respective websites: Aalma / Table Suisse, and share their content on social media.
