Oeko-Tex
Oeko-Tex is the first label aimed at guaranteeing the human and environmental qualities of textiles: they must be free of products toxic to the body and the environment.
The Oeko-Tex® 100 standard takes into account:
- Important legal regulations on prohibited components, such as azo dyes, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium, nickel, etc.
- Many chemicals harmful to health, even if they are not yet regulated by law.
- Requirements of Annexes XVII and XIV of the European Ordinance on REACH chemicals and the list of ECHA-SVHC candidates insofar as, according to the estimate of the expert groups of the OEKO-TEX® community, they apply to flat structures, textiles, clothing or accessories. At each update to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® , requirements are taken into account as efficiently and quickly as possible as discussions and developments deemed relevant.
- US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Acts (CPSIA) for requirements on lead.
- Many classes of substances also related to the environment.
