ROHS
The European Directive RoHS (2002/95/EC) (Restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) aims to limit the use of six hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
The substances in question are:
- lead;
- mercury;
- cadmium;
- hexavalent chromium;
- polybromobiphenyls (PBB);
- polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).
The maximum concentrations of these hazardous substances are 0.1% per unit of weight of homogeneous material, except for cadmium where the limit is 0.01%.
