Responsable Purchasing
In November 2020, the Swiss were called to the polls to vote on the popular initiative “Responsible Enterprises”. It required companies with headquarters in Switzerland to respect human rights and environmental standards both there and abroad. The majority of inhabitants voted in favour (50.73%), but 14.5 cantons out of 26 were opposed to it. Without a double majority, the initiative narrowly failed, which results in a “lighter” counter-project for Swiss companies. 1
This vote highlighted the fact that many Swiss people feel increasingly uncomfortable and/or distrustful about the economy and will express this via new initiatives. This brought up new topics for discussion, including what is known as responsible purchasing.
A responsible purchase is a purchase that:
- takes into account environmental protection requirements
- takes into account social conditions throughout the production chain
- promotes economic development by seeking efficiency, improving quality, overall optimising costs (in the short, medium and long term). 2
Faced with global challenges (the climate, biodiversity, resource scarcity, working conditions, social ethics, etc.), everyone is called upon to act at their own level. In this regard, changing our purchasing habits by integrating aspects related to sustainable development, or “buying responsibly”, means we can encourage the private economy to better take into account sustainability and change its production practices. The aim is to preserve natural resources, reduce emissions (waste, gas, water) and ensure health and social well-being.
Inovacomm is committed to responsible purchasing:
- By promoting strong environmental awareness and deep respect for people.
- By meeting customer expectations in the most fair and transparent way possible.
- By fostering healthy, strong and long-term collaborations, both with its customers and with its network of partners/project managers.
- By conducting studies and audits to ensure the compliance and safety of our products.
- By actively researching innovative materials and using increasingly healthy and conscious materials.
- By transporting goods using less polluting means of transport.
