What is an Environmental Object?

Given the current environmental challenges, it is essential to consider the environmental impact of communicating through objects. We produce thousands of personalised items every year. Offering products designed with the environment and human rights in mind has always been part of our core values. Today, we bring real added value to our customers through our expertise, our creativity and our network of exclusive partners.

With this in mind, an environmental product is a product that has the smallest possible impact on the environment throughout its life cycle. That includes the extraction of raw materials, its manufacture, transport and use up until its end of life.

It should be clear – the best thing is to choose a product made from renewable natural resources (which regenerate), locally or with the least transport possible, without polluting the air, water or soil and whose daily use does not harm either the planet or people’s health. All this results in a life cycle that is respectful of people and their environment (reuse, biodegradability of the product or reinsertion in production chains).

Unfortunately, a 100% environmental product does not exist. All products have an impact on the environment, as:

  • They need raw materials
  • They need energy to be manufactured
  • They need packaging to be protected and stored
  • They must also be transported
  • They will end their life as a waste product, either destroyed or reused

But how can you choose the right product? How can we reduce our impact on the environment by choosing a product that is respectful, more sustainable and does not harm health?

Identify labels
Does the product have a label or certification? Do you recognise it? To find it more easily, you can use our glossary to help. Pay attention to marketing messages designed to attract you to products labelled “100% natural” or “environmentally responsible”. These indications provide very little information about the manufacture of the product.

Check the composition
As a rule, if a product is manufactured with respect for the environment, the manufacturer does not hide anything from consumers! Can you read through the product’s composition? Does it contain components that are harmful to health or the environment? Is the product made from recycled materials? Is it recyclable? Or biodegradable? Do the materials used for its manufacture come from sustainable management?

Choose reduced packaging
Often, when packaging is designed with the environment in mind, the manufacturer specifies this. Look closely at your product packaging. On average, 10% of the final price is intended for packaging; removing it therefore means making savings in addition to a gesture for the planet. Otherwise, we can also choose family-sized packs, which are less expensive in terms of materials to be scrapped and often recyclable, as packaging accounts for nearly a third of household waste!

We are driven by a true philosophy of sustainability and responsibility in relation to our business. Of course, there is still work to be done, but we strive every day to find new solutions for you in order to achieve continuous improvement and a concrete impact. We are firmly and undeniably committed to responsible production and the new societal requirements of transparency for a reasonable social and environmental impact.
